If you're interested in commissioning a custom artwork, here’s how the process works:
If you’re looking to commission a custom artwork, here’s how the process works:
- Initial Consultation
- We will start with a phone call to discuss what you would like for your painting. During this conversation, you'll describe what you want, including size, themes, colors, and whether you'd like to add crystals. We will also discuss whether you prefer an acrylic or oil painting (note: oil painting incurs an additional $100 fee, and I’ll explain the differences during the call).
- Canvas & Sizing Options
- I use linen canvases for all commission paintings. I have a selection of standard sizes available for you to choose from, but if you need a custom size, I can arrange that. Please note, custom sizes may take extra time to source.
- Pricing & Upfront Cost
- My commission rate is $2 per square inch, with a size minimum of 24x24 inches.
- There is an upfront cost. This is calculated by multiplying the size of the canvas (in square inches) by $1 and also covers the cost of the linen canvas. The upfront cost does not include the crystal add-ons.
- You are also responsible for shipping costs, which will be calculated based on your location.
- Crystals Option
- If you would like to incorporate crystals onto the artwork, we can discuss the types you want during the consultation. Since crystal prices vary, and due to the vast variety of crystals and their availability, I cannot provide an exact cost upfront. After sourcing the crystals, I will confirm availability and pricing with you. Your approval is required before purchasing the crystals and starting the artwork.
- Written Confirmation
- After our consultation, I will send you a written summary of everything we discussed, including the size, medium (acrylic or oil), base cost, varnish sheen, and any additional requests. You will need to approve this in writing before I begin work.
- Final Steps
- Once you approve everything and the upfront payment is made, I will begin the process of creating your artwork. I will keep you updated on the progress, particularly if there are delays related to sourcing materials like crystals or custom canvas sizes.
